Road-Test Checklist: Slope, Bumps & Campsite Stress Tests
If you only test on level pavement, you're testing a fantasy. Do this quick routine instead.
1) Driveway Slope Test
- Park on a modest incline. Does the door shift in the frame?
- Lock/unlock 5×. Listen for motor strain or latch scrape.
2) Speed-Bump Pass
- Roll over a few bumps at low speed. Then immediately test actuation.
- If alignment changed, add damping or revisit strike depth.
3) Campsite Twist
- Level the rig, then slightly unlevel it (one jack turn). Re-test.
- Note any bind points. A tolerant setup keeps working anyway.
4) Night Quiet Check
- At night, lock/unlock with neighbors present (imaginary ones count). Beeps off? LEDs subdued?
- If it calls attention to itself, fix settings and damping.
5) Final Torque & Doc
- Re-torque mounting screws. Paint-mark heads to detect future movement.
- Update your service card with date, adjustments, and notes.
Real world > spec sheet. Pass this test once, enjoy quiet confidence all season.
