Remote Cabin Entry Protocol (Offline)
Trust the workflow, not the Wi-Fi.
Roles
- Owner: keeps master PIN + mechanical key.
- Guests: time-bound PIN, expires on checkout.
- Contractors: single-use PIN; owner onsite or same-day verification.
Protocol
- Create guest/contractor PINs on arrival day; share by phone/SMS (not email). Avoid patterns.
- At the door: guests tap-to-wake, enter code, lock after entry. No auto-unlock features at all.
- Owner logs entry time on paper card inside (date, purpose, initials).
- On departure day: owner/guest confirms lock; owner deletes codes immediately.
Backup Plan
- Mechanical key in secure off-site lockbox (not visible from cabin door).
- Spare battery pack + fuse in labeled interior cavity pouch.
- Printed quick-start card: code entry, lock/unlock steps, support number.
Quarterly Hygiene
- Rotate master PIN; wipe all guest/contractor codes.
- Test mechanical key once per quarter; relube cylinder with graphite.
- Verify paper trail card is legible and up to date.
Offline doesn't mean insecure. It means predictable. Your protocol is your platform.
