Seasonal Maintenance: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter
Four tiny rituals. One bulletproof door.
Spring (Thaw & Water)
- Inspect gaskets for compression set/cracks; replace as needed.
- Clear panel snow debris; confirm charge controller status lights.
- Lube latch/bolt lightly with synthetic; wipe excess.
Summer (Heat & Dust)
- Retorque hardware; plastics soften in heat — screws loosen.
- Check vents; dust cloth over keypad/housing edges.
- Shade or tilt panel to prevent heat soak if applicable.
Autumn (Storms & Leaves)
- Clean drip loops and gutters; confirm glands are tight.
- Replace near-end-of-life batteries before winter, not after failure.
- Update service card with date and actions.
Winter (Cold & Ice)
- Test actuation on the coldest morning; listen for slow motor or bind.
- Lithium cells prefer above-freezing charge; warm placement or self-heating pack.
- Disable bright LEDs at night; conserve power.
Tiny checklists beat big repairs. Set quarterly reminders and you're done.
